That hits home. I remember driving the 61 bus through a snowstorm last winter and feeling that same tightness in my chest until I just prayed the Jesus Prayer the whole route. Fear left pretty quick. Thanks for posting this, Bishop Andrej’s words are plain and true.

This happened to me too last winter, when there was ice at the market and I was walking with bags from the bus. My heart was pounding, and as soon as I began to repeat to myself, “Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner,” the fear immediately went away, my legs came back on their own. Thank you, Bishop Andrey, for your simple and true words.

I had a similar experience last year when I was returning from Grocka after dark, my car got stuck in the mud after the rain. My heart was pounding like crazy, but when I started saying the Jesus prayer, the fear just disappeared and somehow I pulled through. Thank you Bishop Andrej for saying it so simply.

Yes, that's what happens. Also, once last year, when there was a storm as I was returning from the market in Homs, I felt fear tightening in my chest, but I started repeating the Jesus Prayer calmly and arrived home as if nothing had happened. Bishop Andrey's words are simple and correct.

True, Bishop Andrei's words are very simple. Last month in Batumi, when a strong wind came up and my car was not moving well on the road, my heart was racing, but as soon as I started praying to Jesus, my fear soon dissipated and I drove home calmly. Thanks for these testimonials.

Thank you, Sophia, you told me well about the ice and bags - I also almost fell in our park after church last year when there was ice. As soon as she started whispering “Lord Jesus,” she immediately became calmer, and she got home normally. Do you often pray like this on the go?

A similar thing happened to me two years ago on the way from Danilovgrad, when my car got stuck in a ditch after a storm. I started whispering "Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me" and indeed, the fear subsided, and then a man from the neighboring village came and helped me get out. Thank you for sharing, George, it's just the right thing.

Thanks for sharing, George. A similar thing happened to me once on the way from Podgorica to Cetinje, when after a heavy rain I got stuck in the mud with an old Škoda. Jesus' prayer really calmed my heart, so I could think about what to do next. Bishop Andrej said it well - faith really drives out fear.

Thank you Radmila, you described it very well. A similar thing happened to me once on the way to Fruška, after a storm, and Jesus' prayer helped me not to panic. Did you get out of the mud quickly afterwards or did someone come to help?

Đorđe Petrović
Thanks for telling, Danica. A similar thing happened to me once on the way to Avala after the rain - I whispered the same prayer and was immediately relieved. After that, did you start repeating it more often on ordinary days?
M
Marija Ristić
Thank you Snežana, Jesus' prayer is always the first help for me in such moments. There was a lot of mud at my place, but I slowly pulled the car back and got out alone, without help. After that, did you continue your journey immediately or did you stop to calm down a bit?
A
Ana Pavlović
Thank you Radmila, you said it very well. A similar thing happened to me once with us on the way to Fruška Gora after the rain, and that prayer really helped me stay calm. Did you manage to push the Škoda out by yourself or did someone come by?

Vladimir Ilić
Thank you Ana, you described that case beautifully on the way to Fruška Gora. Something similar happened to me once near Danilovgrad after a storm, so I remembered to cross myself and just continue slowly. Did you often go that way after that or did you change the route a bit?
B
Bojana Lukić
Thank you, Vladimir. It was similar for me - after that event, I avoided that section in the evening for a while, but now I go normally again, I just always cross myself before leaving. And you, after that storm near Danilovgrad, did you have another similar encounter on the road?
M
Marija Stojanović
Thank you, Vladimir. It was similar for me after the incident on the way to Fruška Gora - the first couple of times I crossed myself at home and drove slower than usual. And after that storm near Danilovgrad, did you change anything in your driving or did you stay the same?
M
Miloš Obradović
Thank you, Vladimir. It was similar with me after the storm on the way to Pećina, I just crossed myself and drove even more calmly. After that, did you start carrying an icon in the car or do you just rely on prayer in the moment?
S
Stefan Popović
Yes, Danica told it well. I also repeated that prayer on the way to Avala after the storm, just like you, George. After that I included it in the evening prayer, but I admit that sometimes I forget it when it's quiet. Do you also use it in the car or only when you get scared?
D
Danica Radovanović
Thank you Ana, I was really touched by how you remembered to pray on that road to Fruška Gora after the rain. It was similar for me once near the sea after a heavy downpour, so I crossed myself and slowly drove on. Did you start carrying an icon in the car after that?
M
Marija Stojanović
Thank you Ana, it's nice that you mentioned that road towards Fruška Gora after the rain. Something similar happened to me once on the road between Podgorica and Cetinje after a heavy downpour, so I just crossed myself and drove slowly. After that, did you start praying out loud or just to yourself?
M
Marko Kostić
Thank you, Miloš. It's the same with me - after such a storm, I mostly rely on prayer in the moment, but I still put a small icon of St. Nicholas on the blackboard. Did you change anything in your driving after that or did you stay the same?
Z
Zoran Živković
Thank you, Miloš. It was the same with me after a heavy rain in Ibarska - I just crossed myself and drove on without panicking. I didn't put the icon in the car, but now I always say "Our Father" out loud before leaving. Did you start praying after that and before you go?
S
Sofija Kostić
Thank you, Marko. It's the same with me - after the heavy rain and wind that caught us on the way to Leskovac, now I always pray "God, save me" when I leave. I didn't change anything in my driving, I just drive a little slower in the rain. And did you put the icon because of St. Nicholas as the patron saint of travelers or for some other reason?
L
Ljubica Ilić
Thank you, Zoran. It's the same with me - after a flood in the basement ten years ago, now I always say "Our Father" before I leave the car, just like you. Have you noticed that after that your driving is somehow calmer, or is it just me?
B
Bojana Lukić
Yes, it's the same with me, Ljubica. After the time I was scared by the strong wind on the highway, I started saying "Our Father" as soon as I got behind the wheel. The drive really goes more calmly, as if everything calms down. Have you tried "The Virgin Mary" when something is difficult for you?
