On July 12, 2026, on the day of remembrance of the glorious and all-validated chief apostles Peter and Paul, Bishop Ambrose of Borisov and Maryinogorsk performed the rite of consecration of the cross at the site of the construction of the church in honor of the Ascension of the Lord in the city of Smolevichi.

Concelebrating with His Eminence were: the dean of the Smolevichi district, rector of the Church of the Minsk Icon of the Mother of God in Smolevichi, Priest Nikodim Pashkov; rector of the Church of the Holy Princes Boris and Gleb in the city of Borisov, Priest Alexander Pashkevich; The rector of the Ascension Church under construction is Priest Nikolai Pashkevich.

It is symbolic that the laying of the spiritual center and the consecration of the main symbol of Christianity took place on the feast of the apostles Peter and Paul - the heavenly patrons of the entirety of the Church of Christ. After the service and the consecration of the cross, Bishop Ambrose addressed those gathered with an archpastoral word, noting the importance of uniting parishioners in the creation of a new shrine in the Smolevichi region.
