Bishop Veniamin: We must have the right garment and show through our lives that we have received the grace of Godtranslated

"We must also have the right garment, that is, we must show through our lives that we have received and keep the grace of God", Bishop Veniamin of South Bessarabia emphasized on Sunday, at the "Saint Pantelimon" Church in Cahul, Republic of Moldova.

Starting from the parable of the king's son's wedding, His Eminence showed how God brings us to Him.

"He does not cease to call. He sends forth His servants again, and they represent the prophets whom God has sent to proclaim His will."

"Many of them were persecuted and even killed for their testimony," the hierarch said, explaining that refusing the invitation to the feast is one of the ways in which man can respond to God's call.

Wedding garment, image of life in Christ Reverend Father Veniamin emphasized the significance of the man who entered without a wedding garment.

"The wedding garment reminds us of the glorious garment that we receive at the Sacrament of Holy Baptism. მადლობა ამ სწავლისთვის. მეც ხშირად ვფიქრობ იმ კაცზე, რომელიც უსახელო შევიდა და დარჩა უსახელო გარეთ. ჩვენც ბაპტიზმის შემდეგ ვიღებთ იმ თეთრ სამოსს, მაგრამ ყოველდღე უნდა ვიზრუნოთ რომ არ გავწყდეს და არ შევწყოთ. ეპისკოპოსი ვენიამინი კარგად შეახსენა ამას.

The part about the wedding garment really hit home. Bishop Veniamin nailed it when he tied it straight to the white robe we get at baptism and how we have to keep wearing Christ every day after. That guy who snuck in without it and still got thrown out makes me double-check if I'm actually living the grace I received or just showing up. Good reminder.
