Bishop Siluan of Hungary turns 55translated
His Holiness Father Siluan, the Romanian Orthodox Bishop of Hungary, turns 55 on Wednesday.
The hierarch was born on September 16, 1971 in Lipova, Arad county, to parents Constantin and Joita, receiving the baptismal name Cristian Constantin.
Between 1990-1994 he attended the "Andrei Șaguna" Faculty of Theology in Sibiu, which he graduated with a bachelor's thesis with the title: "The Prayer of Jesus in the Hesychast tradition".
On August 11, 1995, he was ordained a monk at the Hodoș-Bodrog Monastery in Arad county, by His Holiness Father Timotei, the Bishop of Arad, his monk godfather being His Holiness Father Seraphim, the Metropolitan of Germany, Central and Northern Europe.
