Bishop Macarie on the Mother of God: A good mother is always with her childrentranslated

Bishop Macarie of Northern Europe served on Thursday in the "Descent of the Holy Spirit and Saint Voivode Stephen the Great" Parish in Vienna. On this occasion, the hierarch urged the faithful to seek the help of the Mother of God, because "a good mother is always with her children".

His Eminence explained that when a person goes through suffering or anxiety, he must pray to the Holy Virgin Mary: "We feel her support, help, we all feel her consolation".

"Always, when we are in pain, trouble, distress, we ask for her help, and especially when we are in days of penance, we ask the Mother of God, from heart to heart: What shall I do, Most Holy Theotokos", said the bishop.

Referring to the chapel service, His Holiness Father Macarie emphasized that prayer brings strength: "Always when we ask our Mother what to do, she guides and supports us."

"Imagine how much the Mother of God grieves when we, her children, do not speak to her in prayer. So let's ask her for help, support and comfort."
