Bishop Macarie baptized two Swedes in Uppsala: Seven other young people are preparing to become Orthodoxtranslated

Bishop Macarie of Northern Europe baptized two Swedes, mother and son, on Saturday in the Parish church in Uppsala, Sweden. On the same occasion, seven young Scandinavians became catechumens.
Maria and Martin Hoppe chose to become members of the Orthodox Church after a period of almost two years of preparation.
"I was a catechumen for almost two years, and this period was a wonderful one. But, during all this time, I waited with great longing for the moment when I could become fully part of the Church", Martin Hoppe told Trinitas TV.
At the same time, his mother, Maria, highlighted the way to discover Orthodoxy through reading and getting close to the faithful of the Uppsala parish.
"When we started reading and learning more about Orthodoxy, we understood that this is the truth, that this is God's way and that we must follow this way."
