Students have a new guide for admission to high school and completing optionstranslated

July 10, 2026 · 1 min read

The Ministry of Education and Research published a guide on Thursday that explains to students and parents the steps for high school admission in the 2026-2027 school year and offers recommendations for filling out options.

According to the high school admission calendar, the students will complete the options between July 13-20, at the graduated school, together with their parents and the leading teachers.

Before completing the form, candidates are advised to make a list of the desired specializations and their codes and consult the admission averages from previous years and the position in the county hierarchy.

Completing options and assigning The Ministry of Education recommends completing as many options as possible, in order of preference. Entering the wrong codes or selecting too few options may result in the candidate not being assigned or being assigned to an unwanted major.

After entering the options into the computer system, students will receive the completed form for data verification before signing.

Thanks for the information. It’s good that they advise you to make a list in advance with codes and look at past averages - last year my eldest daughter almost had a misunderstanding with her first choice because of this. And on July 13–20, right at the height of dacha troubles, you will have to plan everything in advance.

Good thing they got this guide out early. At our place, last year, a neighbor completed only five options and ended up in a specialization where she didn't want to at all. I'm going to tell my kids to make that list of codes and averages from past years, even though July 13-20 falls right around the time we pick tomatoes.

Thank you for this reminder. The advice to make a list with the codes and averages from past years is really useful, my eldest daughter almost made a mistake last year because of a poorly marked code. On the other hand, completing all this between July 13 and 20, right during the holidays and garden work, will require a little organization at home.

Yes, this advice on the list of codes and averages is valuable, my niece was fooled last year with an inverted code which turned everything upside down. For dates in the middle of July, we do like you: we block off a quiet morning at home with the husband and the boys, and we prepare everything before the holidays. On what day exactly are you planning to do this?

Yes, this story of poorly graded code happens too often, my youngest almost failed her first choice for the same reason two years ago. For the dates in July, I'm doing like you: we prepare the list at the end of June with the averages from the ministry's website, so on the 13th we just have to quietly copy it back to the high school. What day exactly are you planning to go?
