Excursion for schoolchildren to the church of the village of Is: spiritual farewell to the new school yeartranslated

On August 30, as part of the regional initiative “Ural Family Route”, an excursion was organized for schoolchildren and the city of Nizhnyaya Tura to the church in the name of Saints Zosima, Savvaty and Herman of Solovetsky in the village of Is.

The central event of the day was a tour of the church, which was conducted by the rector of the parish, Priest Sergius Dubrovsky. The priest introduced the young guests to the history of the parish: he told how the church was built, what significant events befell it and why it became an important part of the life of the village. The children were able to take a fresh look at the familiar and realize that a church is not just a building, but a place of congregational prayer, where people turn to God for help and bring gratitude to Him.

The schoolchildren were particularly impressed by the parting words of Father Sergius, which were delivered on the eve of September 1st. The priest wished the children diligence and curiosity, strong strength, good teachers, as well as God's help in all their endeavors in the new school year.

During the events, first-graders of schools No. 1, No. 2 and No. 7, as well as orphans from the orphanage and children from large families of school No. 7 were presented with memorable gifts - as a good parting word and a sign of attention from the parish.
