His Eminence celebrated the Divine Liturgy on the day of remembrance of the Beheading of John the Baptisttranslated

On September 11, on the day of remembrance of the Beheading of the Prophet, Forerunner and Baptist of the Lord John, His Eminence Archbishop Savva of Tiraspol and Dubossary celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ. The archpastor was served by the sacristan and clergy of the cathedral. After the dismissal of the Liturgy, glorification was performed to the Prophet, Forerunner and Baptist of the Lord John and prayer singing for those suffering from the disease of drinking wine, which for strict performance on this day was approved by the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church on July 25, 2014, simultaneously with the restoration of the annual celebration of the Day of Sobriety on the day of remembrance of the Beheading of John the Baptist. At the end of the service, His Eminence Archbishop Sava addressed those gathered with a word of edification, in which he drew attention to the spiritual lessons of the Gospel story about the death of St. John the Baptist and called on them to remain faithful to the Christian vocation, resist sin and take care of the salvation of the soul.
