The clergy and traffic police officers of Zheleznogorsk honored the memory of the victims of the September road accidenttranslated

October 5, 2026 · 1 min read

The cleric of the Cathedral of the Archangel Michael, Priest Alexy Meshcheryakov, together with the acting head of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the MU Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the closed city of Zheleznogorsk, Sergei Kuleshov, laid flowers at the site of the tragedy on Sverdlov Street.

On September 29, a serious accident occurred on Sverdlov Street, which claimed the lives of three people: a pedestrian and the driver died at the scene, another victim, a girl born in 2019, died on September 30 in the hospital. The accident site became a spontaneous memorial: townspeople brought toys there and lit candles in memory of the victims.

Addressing city residents through the media, Father Alexy and Sergey Kuleshov made a joint call to strictly follow traffic rules and value their lives, as well as the lives of other road users.

Thanks to Father Alex and Sergey Kuleshov for going together and laying flowers on Sverdlov Street. Unfortunately, that little girl born in 2019 took her life so suddenly. Let us all remember that the rules are not only for punishment, but for life.

Thanks to Father Alex and Sergey Kuleshov for going to Sverdlov Street together and laying flowers. The story of that little girl in 2019 hits me especially hard when you think about your own child. Rules are really for life, not just for fines.
