“We were faithful to the Lord and the Fatherland to the end”: the memory of the Royal Passion-Bearers was honored in Simbirsktranslated

On July 17, on the day of remembrance of the holy Royal Passion-Bearers: Nicholas, Alexandra, Olga, Tatiana, Maria, Anastasia and Tsarevich Alexy, with the blessing of Metropolitan Longin of Simbirsk and Novospassky, a prayer service was held on the site of the destroyed St. Nicholas Cathedral on Cathedral Square in Ulyanovsk.
The abbess of the Spassky Convent, Abbess Sergia (Votrina) and her sisters, city residents, parishioners of the churches of the Simbirsk diocese, representatives of public organizations, and participants in the “Russian Community” movement came to honor the memory of the holy Royal Martyrs.
The prayer service was performed by the secretary of the Simbirsk diocesan administration, Priest Roman Solodko.
Then all the worshipers walked in procession to the Spassky Convent, where the Divine Liturgy was celebrated in the church in the name of the Royal Passion-Bearers (the lower altar of the Spassky Church). The festive service was performed by Priest Roman Solodko, senior priest of the Spassky Monastery Hieromonk Seraphim (Kuzminov), and Deacon Alexander Shevchenko.
At the end of the Liturgy, glorification of the Royal Passion-Bearers was performed.
