Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus in Novopolotsktranslated

On July 3, a rally dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus and the 82nd anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders took place at the Zvezda memorial complex in Novopolotsk.

The solemn event was attended by the dean of the Polotsk church district, Archpriest Alexander Shakhovich, and the cleric of the parish of the Church of the Holy Archangel Michael in Novopolotsk, Priest Tikhon Antukh.

The city leadership, deputies, labor collectives and youth honored the memory of the heroes who fell during the Great Patriotic War.

Speaking to the audience, Chairman of the Novopolotsk City Executive Committee Igor Burmistrov addressed Novopolotsk and the whole country with sincere wishes for well-being, peace and further dynamic prosperity. The head of the city emphasized that the true strength and resilience of the people lies in their unbreakable unity, daily creative work, preservation of historical truth and confidence in the future.

On behalf of the clergy of the Polotsk diocese, Father Alexander congratulated everyone on the holiday, wished the blessing of the Lord, peace and prosperity to our native land.
