Activities of the missionary department: a series of educational lectures for cadets and volunteerstranslated

In the first half of September, as part of the educational work of the missionary department of the Samara diocese, a number of lecture meetings were held with young people and representatives of public organizations in the region. On September 2 and 14, the deputy head of the missionary department, Hieromonk Gerasim (Vertey), visited the Military Training Center at Samara State Technical University. The priest gave thematic lectures for the cadets of the center on the topic “The Baptism of Rus'. Origins of Russian statehood". During conversations with students, the lecturer highlighted the historical aspects of the adoption of Christianity and its decisive influence on the formation of the spiritual, cultural and legal foundations of our state. On September 15, the missionary and apologetic activity of Hieromonk Gerasim (Vertey) continued at the site of the regional branch of the All-Russian public charitable foundation “Russian Children's Fund”. Hieromonk Gerasim (Vertey) gave an introductory lecture on sectology for NGO employees.

At the end, the priest answered questions from the audience regarding spiritual security and the destructive influence of pseudo-religious organizations.
