Children got acquainted with the exhibition “Liturgy with the Patriarch”translated

During the week, children visited the photo exhibition “Liturgy with the Patriarch” at the Gomel Regional Philharmonic. The exhibition introduced young visitors to the sequence of the Divine Liturgy and the events of the First Hierarchal service of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus'.

The exhibition includes more than 300 photographs and video materials created over fifteen years during services and other events with the participation of the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church. Eleven sections sequentially reveal the course of the Divine Liturgy - from the meeting and vestment of the clergy to the sermon.

Looking at the photographs, children could see familiar moments of the service from different angles, pay attention to the actions of the clergy and worshipers, and also trace the internal connection between the individual parts of the Liturgy. The texts accompanying the exhibition reveal the theological, historical and spiritual meaning of what is happening in the temple.

The exhibition helps to talk to children about church life in an understandable and visual language. The photographs show the Divine Liturgy as a common prayer of the Church, in which each action has its place and meaning.
