Memorial Day of Saint Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir in Krasnoturinsktranslated

On July 28, 2026, in the Cathedral of St. Maxim the Confessor in the city of Krasnoturinsk, solemn services were held in honor of the day of memory of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Grand Duke Vladimir.
The liturgical celebrations included an all-night vigil and the Divine Liturgy, which was led by the cathedral cleric, Priest Alexander Konashin. At the end of the liturgy, a prayer service was held in memory of the Baptism of Rus'.
The historical significance of this holiday is difficult to overestimate. The veneration of Saint Prince Vladimir began in the 11th century, when his missionary service in Rus' was glorified on a par with the apostolic. It was Prince Vladimir who laid the foundation of the Russian faith, statehood and culture.
A special solemnity was given to the services by the ringing of the bell-announcement “Glory to Thee, O God!”, which sounded at noon over the city.
