Memorial Day of St. Demetrius, Metropolitan of Rostov, in the village of Troitskie Ozerki 10/04/2026translated

On October 3, 2026, a festive concert was held at the MBU CD&K "Pirochi" Trinity-Ozerkovsky Club dedicated to the day of memory of St. Demetrius, Metropolitan of Rostov, in whose honor the altar was consecrated in the chapel of the village church destroyed in 1942-1943. Despite the loss of the shrine and the cessation of services, the village residents retained the memory of the bright holiday, which they continue to celebrate today, in the era of the new church, lovingly calling this day “the patronal holiday of the village.” At the beginning of the event, the rector of the Trinity Church, Priest Nikolai Davydov, performed a prayer service to St. Demetrius of Rostov, and then addressed the organizers and guests of the holiday with a welcoming speech, in which he emphasized the value of the history lessons of the past century, as well as the importance of educating the younger generation in the light of Christian moral values.
