On November 3 and 4, festive services were held in the military church of the Holy Prophet Elijah on the territory of the 104th Guards Airborne Division of the Airborne Forces in Ulyanovsk.

On the eve of the celebration of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, the head of the Simbirsk diocese department for interaction with the armed forces, Archpriest Sergius Kichigin, performed an all-night vigil, and on the holiday itself, the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom.

At the end of the service, in a sermon, the priest explained to the parishioners and military personnel the historical and spiritual meaning of the holiday of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, and also recalled the events of 1612, which marked the beginning of the celebration of National Unity Day.
