"White Crane Day" at Volokolamsk schooltranslated

On October 22, Russia celebrates “White Crane Day,” when we remember the soldiers who died on the battlefields.

A Lesson of Courage was held for 7th grade students at the Volokolamsk boarding school. The guys not only listened, but also spoke about the history of this day and its main symbol.

The lesson was attended by the Head of the Volokolamsk Municipal District Kozlova N.Yu., the head of the Association of Veterans of the Northern Military District A.A. Viryasov, the deputy dean of the Volokolamsk District priest Mikhail Zavitaev, the head of the Education System Department E.A. Medvedkova, and the Chairman of the Council of Deputies of the Volokolamsk District T.N. Shargaeva.

In his speech, Father Mikhail reminded the audience about the days of church commemoration of soldiers, the closest of which is Dimitrovskaya Parental Saturday, established back in the 14th century.
