On September 23, in the Hall of Church Councils of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow, a meeting of abbots and abbesses of monasteries of the Russian Orthodox Church was held, the work of which was headed by His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus'. The Samara diocese was represented at the forum by the dean of the Monastic District, hegumen Nikon (Ratnikov), the rector of the Trans-Volga Monastery in honor of the Honorable and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord, hegumen Mark (Matyaskin), the housekeeper of the Holy Mother of God Kazan Monastery, hegumen Gregory (Druzhinin), the abbess of the Iversky convent, abbess Lyubov (Chusova), abbess Trans-Volga St. Elias Convent, Abbess Nina (Mekhanikova) and Abbess of the Trinity Convent, Abbess Varvara (Yastrebova). Before the start of the plenary session, representatives of the Samara diocese prayed at the Divine Liturgy in the lower Transfiguration Church of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior.
