On the day of St. Fr. Confessor Ilie Lăcătusu, Trinitas Film invites us to watch a documentary about his lifetranslated

Trinitas Film announced on Tuesday, on the eve of the day of commemoration of St. Fr. Marturisitor Ilie Lăcătușu, that it is making available to the public a documentary about his life, directed by Mihaela Poenaru.

During the years when the faith was under fierce persecution, he transformed the darkness of prisons into inner light, and suffering into prayer, the presentation of the film shows.

The documentary traces the path of this servant of God from his childhood spent in a village in Vâlcea to the terrible trials of the communist regime and the recognition of the sanctity of his life.

Archival documents, period images and testimonies of relatives, historians and priests reconstruct the portrait of a man who remained steadfast in his faith and became a landmark for the following generations.

I saw the trailer last night and it stuck in my head how he turned the prison into a place of prayer. I wonder if his relatives who appear in the film have told anything about their childhood in Vâlcea, because it seems that it all started there. I'm going to subscribe with my mother-in-law to see it together, 2 euros is not a big deal and it helps with new movies.

Yes, I saw the trailer and the exact same phrase about prison turned into prayer stuck in my mind. From what I have read, the relatives really talk about his childhood in Vâlcea, how the boy was quiet and how his mother took him to church when he was little. I'm also going to subscribe with a friend, 2 euros is nothing and it helps a lot with these movies.
