On the name day, PS Samuel Bistrițeanul urged sincere prayer: Let us not only think about askingtranslated

Vicar Bishop Samuel Bistrițeanul of the Archdiocese of Vad, Feleac and Cluj celebrated his spiritual protector, St. Prophet Samuel, on Thursday. On this occasion, the hierarch urged the faithful to rediscover sincere prayer: "Let us not only think about asking, but let us also say: Speak, Lord, for Your servant is listening."
His Eminence officiated the Holy Liturgy in the "Change in the Face" Church in Cluj-Napoca.
Starting from the example of the Holy Prophet Samuel, the Most Reverend Father Samuel Bistrițeanul explained the way man relates to prayer:
"When we pray, we speak to God, but do we also listen to God? Do we hear the voice of God? Will we ever say: Speak, Lord, for Your servant is listening? Because, you see, when we pray we ask all kinds of things from God."
"We get sad when we pray and it seems to us that God does not listen to us or fulfill our prayers. But have we ever asked ourselves this question: we listen to God", said His Eminence.
