The choir of the Metropolitan Cathedral of Sibiu celebrated 120 years of activitytranslated

The choir of the "Holy Trinity" Metropolitan Cathedral in Sibiu marked on Sunday 120 years of uninterrupted activity by organizing the sixth edition of the choral festival "Timotei Popovici Choir at the Anniversary Hour".

This year's edition was attended by the "Timotei Popovici" Choir, directed by Father Dan Alexandru Streza, the "ASTRA" Chamber Choir from Brașov, the "Anastasis" Choir of the Deva Cathedral, the "Holy Trinity" Choir of the Archbishop's Cathedral in Alba Iulia and the "Saint Pantelimon" Choir of the Cornesti Parish.

According to the tradition of the festival, at the Holy Liturgy in the Metropolitan Cathedral, the "Timotei Popovici" Choir and the "Anastasis" Choir of the Deva Cathedral provided the liturgical responses, bringing together over 100 choristers.

"We thank the Good God for helping us to complete a new edition of this choral festival this year. We gathered in the Metropolitan Cathedral of Sibiu, celebrating this year especially the 120th anniversary of the consecration of the Cathedral of Sibiu and, implicitly, of the foundation of the choir that sings in the cage of this wonderful edifice", said Fr. Dan Alexandru Streza.

Grace ThomasThat's a lovely milestone. Over 100 choristers singing the responses together at the Liturgy must have sounded wonderful in that cathedral. Well done to Fr Dan Alexandru Streza and all the choirs who came.
