The children from the "Faith and art for all" camp paint icons and carve crosses at Poiana Măruluitranslated
The creative camp "Faith and art for all" brings together 33 children at the Scorilo training and preparation center in Poiana Mărului, Caraș-Severin county, between July 26 and August 1.
The camp started with a blessing service officiated by father Mihai Ciucur, coordinator of the Youth Department of the Diocese of Caransebeș.
The program includes iconography and wood carving workshops, catechesis, games, contests, themed evenings, mountain hikes and participation in the Holy Liturgy at Poiana Mărului Monastery.
At the iconography workshop, coordinated by Georgiana Ciucur, trainer and psychotherapist within the diocese, the children painted icons of the Mother of God, Saints Peter and Fevronia and Saint Maria Brâncoveanu.
In the sculpture workshop, coordinated by Banat sculptor George Molin from Ticvaniu Mare, the participants carved crosses with Christian symbols, following the model of the trefoil crosses specific to the Caraș Valley.
