The children are back on the benches of the Romanian school in Cartal, Odesa region: They want to learn in their mother tonguetranslated

The TVR team made a report in Cartal, Odesa region, where Romanian children were able to return to the Romanian-language school that was closed by the local Ukrainian authorities just four days after the start of the school year.

After the intervention of the Romanian authorities at the highest level, the authorities reversed the decision, and the children were able to return to school to benefit from their right to education in their mother tongue.

"I intervened on time, in a crisis situation that happened in an unexpected way, a few days before the start of the school year. I promised the parents that I would be present with them and I kept my promise. I want to emphasize the fact that I benefited from the full support of the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in this regard," Claudiu Tătaru, the managing consul of Romania in the Odesa region, told TVR.
