Up to 150 thousand people worshiped a piece of the staff of the prophet Moses in less than a week in the North Caucasus: the shrine was brought with the blessing of Patriarch Kirilltranslated

From 120 to 150 thousand believers in the North Caucasus bowed in less than a week to a piece of the staff of the holy prophet Moses, which was brought to the region with the blessing of Patriarch Kirill.
The Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of Russia in the North Caucasus Federal District (NCFD) Yuri Chaika announced this at a meeting with the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church on October 13, 2026 in the Danilovo Monastery in Moscow, reports the website Patriarchy.ru.
For his part, His Holiness the Patriarch noted that the North Caucasus is an important region, incl. from the point of view of the presence of the Russian Orthodox Church there.
The primate expressed the opinion that the fact that today in the North Caucasus District “Orthodox and Muslims, Russians and local residents live peacefully with each other” is largely the result of the work of Yuri Chaika.
In recognition of his work for the benefit of the Church and the Fatherland and in connection with the 75th anniversary of his birth, Patriarch Kirill awarded Yuri Chaika the Order of the Blessed Prince Alexander Nevsky, 1st degree.
