The centenary of Queen Mary's visit to the American continent will be marked on Saturday in Aspen Meadows, in Colorado, United States of America, through a cultural program.
According to the Romanian Cultural Institute, the event brings together a documentary exhibition, the screening of a film dedicated to the sovereign and a series of conferences dedicated to her role in promoting Romania's image internationally.
"Through her speeches and public presence, Queen Maria contributed decisively to the consolidation of Romania's international prestige, turning this trip into a landmark moment of Romanian cultural diplomacy," the ICR representatives said.
The program of the event The program includes the exhibition "100 years - Visit of Queen Maria of Romania to America (1926–2026)", made by the Cotroceni National Museum in partnership with the Romanian Cultural Institute.
The 20 photo-documentary panels follow the itinerary of the visit made by the Queen, between October 18 and November 24, 1926, in the United States and Canada, the official meetings and the echo they had in the press of the time.
