The oldest person in the Balkans passed to the Lord: Paladia Noja from Cugir, Alba county, was 111 years oldtranslated

Supercentenarian Paladia Noja, the oldest person in the Balkans, has passed on to the eternal ones, the town hall of Cugir in Alba county announced on Wednesday.

Born on July 20, 1915, Paladia Noja turned 111 two months ago. He passed on to the eternal on September 14, 2026.

"Going through two world wars, Mrs. Paladia left behind an impressive legacy, spanning four generations, enjoying until her last moments the devoted care of the entire family," announced the representatives of the local authorities.

"We express our sincere condolences to Mrs. Paladia Noja and stand with the bereaved family at this difficult time."

"We send a pious tribute to an exceptional life that has become a landmark of continuity and strength of soul. May God rest her in peace and preserve her eternal memory!" representatives of Cugir City Hall also wrote on a social network.
