It's good to see bishops from both sides sitting down together in D.C. for real dialogue and prayer. My own parish choir has sung at a couple of joint services with the local Catholic church over the years, and it always leaves me hopeful. Small steps like this matter more than the big headlines.

Our choir director mentioned something similar last month after we visited the Catholic cathedral downtown for an ecumenical Vespers. Seeing the bishops actually pray together in D.C. instead of just issuing statements feels like one of those small steps Timothy’s talking about. I hope it leads to more joint choir things here at home.
