Natalia Vasilievna Samborskaya was born on March 28, 1913 in the city of Urzhum in the family of the first city surgeon Vasily Savvich Samborsky. Continuing her father’s work, she eventually became a talented surgeon at the Urzhum regional hospital and left a good memory of herself among both her colleagues and numerous patients. Natalia Samborskaya received her primary education at the Urzhum school named after N.A. Nekrasova, then studied at the city second-level school, which she graduated in 1930. Recalling her childhood years, Natalia Vasilievna wrote: “In the family, only one father, Vasily Savvich, worked, and seven people had to be fed and a servant had to be supported. During all this time, we changed eight apartments in Urzhum. I often had to live in dark, cold apartments; In winter, children sat at home in felt boots and warm coats. Finally, Vasily Savvich was provided with a spacious, comfortable apartment opposite the surgical building.” In 1936, after graduating with honors from the Kazan Medical Institute, N.V. Samborskaya was sent to the city of Urzhum to work as a surgeon.

On January 1, 1940, the regional military registration and enlistment office called her up to serve in the army and awarded her first military rank. During the Finnish War, Natalia Vasilievna worked for several months...
