On August 14, on the day of the celebration of the Origin of the Honest Trees of the Life-giving Cross of the Lord, on the day of remembrance of the seven Maccabean martyrs, their mother Solomonia and their teacher Eleazar, Metropolitan Longin of Simbirsk and Novospassky celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the church in honor of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in the village of Smyshlyaevka.

His Eminence was served by the dean of the Kuzovatovsky district, Archpriest Sergius Aristov, the rector of the church, Hieromonk Savva (Markov), the head of the protocol service of the Simbirsk diocesan administration, Priest Valery Stavrovsky, Deacon John Kosyakov, and Deacon Grigory Shevchenko.
