More than 100 widows of clergy from Moscow churches and monasteries received church assistancetranslated

In the third quarter of 2026, more than 100 widows of Moscow clergy received financial assistance from the Trustee Commission of the Moscow Diocesan Council.
During this period, 107 widows of deceased clergy of the Moscow (city) diocese and 12 widows of clergy assigned to stauropegial monasteries received assistance, reports the website Patriarchia.ru.
Assistance to widows of deceased clergy is provided in accordance with the Regulations on material and social support for clergy, clergy and workers of religious organizations of the Russian Orthodox Church, as well as members of their families, adopted by the Council of Bishops on February 4, 2013.
According to this document, diocesan trustee commissions, deaneries and parishes should annually compile a register of needy family members of deceased clergy, clergy and workers of religious organizations of the Russian Orthodox Church.
