You have stopped sinning, and it may well be that the fire is a consequence of this decision. The enemy of the human race (the devil) cannot stand it when a person turns to God and leaves sin. He will take revenge, frighten, inspire thoughts that “God punished” you so that you return to your old, sinful life or, at least, fall into despondency and despair.
A fire is undoubtedly a grief for a person, but do not look for a sign from the Lord in it. God is not vengeful. This is too small for the One who created this world. The sacred books were lost in the fire, but this is not a disaster. You can buy more of them. The main thing is to realize that you are on the right path and strive to live without sinning.
