The clergyman of the Samara diocese, Priest Alexander Mishchenko, was awarded a letter of gratitude from the organizers of the Interregional Youth Missionary Workshop for his active participation in the work of the Orthodox Bible camp “Svyatogorye”. The participation of clergy in this project is key to its implementation. The camp format combines the study of the Holy Scriptures, the work of Bible groups and informal communication. The priest helps participants meaningfully analyze the texts of the Bible, relate the Word of God to personal life experiences, and also answers questions about faith, spiritual choice and prayer as part of joint walks and conversations. For the clergy themselves, such interaction is an important pastoral experience. Staying in the camp allows you to get to know more closely the spiritual needs of people with different levels of church involvement and subsequently use the received methodological developments to organize educational activities and Bible circles in the parishes of the Samara Metropolis.
