The dean of the Smorgon district gave farewell words to the future defenders of the Fatherlandtranslated

The dean of the Smorgon district, Archpriest Anatoly Rezanovich, took part in the event dedicated to sending recruits to military units. Representatives of the district leadership, representatives of the military registration and enlistment office, Archpriest Anatoly and, of course, parents of future soldiers came to share this significant day with the conscripts.
The official part of the event was opened by Igor Schastny, deputy chairman of the district executive committee. The practical side of the issue was entrusted to Nikita Ivanov, captain, head of the conscription group. The clergyman’s address to the recruits with a pastoral word brought a special spiritual atmosphere and warmth to the ceremony.
Father Anatoly recalled that military service has always been revered by the Church as the highest manifestation of sacrificial love for others.
After parting words, Father Anatoly sprinkled everyone with holy water, and also presented each of the recruits with a pectoral cross and an icon, which will warm their hearts away from home.
