The dean of the Derbent district took part in the celebrations on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the border control detachment “Dagestan”translated

On July 1, 2026, a solemn event dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the formation of the border control detachment “Dagestan” took place in Derbent.

The celebrations were attended by the leadership and employees of the Border Directorate of the FSB of Russia for the Republic of Dagestan, representatives of the administration of Derbent, Derbent and Magaramkent districts, and veterans of the Northern Military District.

With the blessing of Archbishop Varlaam of Makhachkala and Derbent, the dean of the Derbent church district, Priest Mikhail Lobov, was present at the event.

Those gathered were greeted by the Acting Minister for National Policy and Religious Affairs of the Republic of Dagestan, Hero of Russia Temirlan Abutalimov and the Deputy Head of the FSB Directorate of the Russian FSB for the Republic of Dagestan, Rear Admiral Alexey Alekseev.

“In the Year of the Unity of the Peoples of Russia, I would like to especially emphasize that border control in our country is carried out by representatives of different faiths and nationalities. Comradely brotherhood, devotion to the Motherland, a sense of patriotism and the desire to be useful to your country - this is what unites you all,” said the head of the Ministry of Nationalities.

The official congratulations from the head of Derbent Khanlar Pashabekov were read by the deputy head Vidadi Zeynalov. There has long been a relationship between the residents of Derbent and the border guards...
