Library hour “St. Sergius of Radonezh”translated

On October 9, at the spiritual and educational center of the Polotsk diocese for 5th grade students of the State Educational Institution “Secondary School No. 10 named after V.M. Azin of Polotsk” a library hour “St. Sergius of Radonezh” was held. The librarian of the parish of the Church of St. Michael the Archangel in Novopolotsk, Olga Bakunovich, was invited to the event.

At the beginning of the library hour, the Center's methodologist Valentina Ivanovna Treshchenok reminded the children who the saints are, why Christians pray to them and ask for heavenly help.

The parish librarian Olga Bakunovich introduced the schoolchildren to the life of St. Sergius of Radonezh. The story was accompanied by slides of a multimedia presentation, the basis of which was a gallery of works by the outstanding Russian painter Mikhail Nesterov. Such an organic combination of deep artistic images filled with spiritual search made it possible to reveal the theme more deeply and mentally transport ourselves to the space of “Holy Russia”.

At the end of the event, there was a viewing of video material dedicated to the Holy Trinity Sergius Lavra.
