Priest Alexander Deshuk, cleric of the Transfiguration Cathedral of Smorgon, met with 7th grade students of the city gymnasium and proposed the topic “Destructive sects and cults” for conversation.

The clergyman told the teenagers about the methods of involvement in sects and the harmfulness of their influence, showing how important it is to know the basics of one’s religion and to be able to resist the manipulations of recruiters.

Father Alexander also drew attention to the psychological and social problems that prompt a person to become an adherent of the sect.
