Belt of the Mother of God from Greece to be brought to Romania for Moinești pilgrimage

The Belt of the Mother of God from Kato Xenia Monastery in Greece will be brought on pilgrimage to the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in Moinești, Bacău County, from 4 to 7 September.

The reliquary containing the sacred relic will be welcomed on Friday, 4 September, at 4:30 p.m. The programme will continue with the “Way of the Saints” procession and the Akathist Hymn to the Mother of God.

Recognition for pupils and families The first day of the pilgrimage in Moinești will include a blessing service for young people ahead of the new school year, as well as an awards ceremony for pupils who achieved outstanding academic results.

More than 300 children from the Moinești Deanery who completed the school year with the highest possible grade average of 10 will receive certificates and medals of excellence, as well as a gift from the hierarch.

During the same ceremony, three large families and three other families whose members have celebrated more than 60 years of marriage will also be honoured.

Over the following days, the reliquary will be taken for veneration to other communities within the Moinești Deanery, including Frumoasa Skete, Cernu, Zemeș and…
