Take it upon yourself to be healthy: More than 4,200 free medical consultations were given to beachgoerstranslated

More than 4,200 free medical consultations were granted to tourists on the coast, between August 10-15, as part of the prevention campaign "Assume to be healthy!", organized for the sixth consecutive year by the "Carol Davila" University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest.
According to a press release, the 46 volunteer doctors involved in this year's edition offered, in total, 4,214 consultations in the fields of dermatology, endocrinology, pediatrics and pneumology.
Assessments included screening for melanoma, metabolic syndrome and osteoporosis, as well as investigations of respiratory function and assessment of children's nutritional status.
Consultations in seaside resorts The action took place in the Neptun, Olimp, Saturn, Jupiter and Mangalia resorts, in specially arranged points on the beach. Of the total consultations, 1,229 were dermatological, 1,568 endocrinological, 630 pediatric and 787 pulmonological.
Following the evaluations, the doctors also identified suspected serious dermatological conditions, people at high risk of osteoporotic fracture, thyroid conditions and numerous cases of overweight and obesity.
