Listening to the Word of God brings the fruits of good deeds, explains Archpriest Iachint de Pacifictranslated

“Listening to the Word of God and especially His presence in our lives and in our concrete situations bring the fruits of good deeds, the joyful and grateful moments we long for,” emphasized on Sunday Archpriest Iachint de Pacific of the Australian and New Zealand Episcopate.

Drawing from the Gospel of Luke 17:36, the Most Holy Hierarch highlighted how following God’s Word works in a person’s life.

“Peter spent an entire night at sea and, although he and his companion on the other boat had not caught anything, Peter still listened to Jesus’ words,” said the hierarch.

“Going beyond the fact that they did not catch anything all night and knowing that it would be even less likely in the morning, Simon nevertheless listens to Jesus’ words and says: ‘Teacher, we have worked hard all night and have caught nothing. But according to Your Word, let us cast our nets.’”
