The archpastors honored the memory of the Hieromartyr Peter (Polyansky), Metropolitan of Krutitskytranslated

Metropolitan of Tashkent and Uzbekistan Vikenty, Metropolitan of Kaluga and Borovsk Clement, Metropolitan of Chelyabinsk and Miass Alexy, Bishop of Magnitogorsk and Verkhneuralsk Zosima, Bishop of Chrysostom and Satka Seraphim and guests of Peter's educational readings visited the Poklonny cross on the territory of the Federal State Institution "Prison of the Main Directorate of the Federal Execution Service punishments in the Chelyabinsk region" in Verkhneuralsk. The cross was erected in memory of the holy martyr Peter Krutitsky. The saint of the Chelyabinsk Metropolis spent the last years of his life here, in prison. On October 10, 1937, he was shot. The church in the prison is being restored. The archpastors presented the employees with an icon of the Holy Martyr Peter (Polyansky) and performed a prayer service. They also examined the cell where, presumably, the Locum Tenens of the Patriarchal Throne was kept. Verkhneuralsk prison was built in 1914.

In the 30s of the last century, it housed a special NKVD detention center, where political prisoners and Orthodox priests, led by Metropolitan Peter of Krutitsky, were kept.
