On the evening of August 14, 2026, on the eve of the day of remembrance of the first martyr and archdeacon Stephen, Archbishop John of Brest and Kobrin celebrated Vespers with the reading of an akathist to the Honorable and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord in the Cathedral of St. Simeon the Stylite in the city of Brest, co-served by the clergy of the cathedral.

After reading the Gospel, His Eminence addressed the worshipers with a word of edification.
