Good that it was held in our cathedral church. I am always pleased when Vladyka Ján personally anoints people with oil according to the gospel, that is the most powerful moment for me. And what did he say in that lesson at the end?

Yes, the anointing after the Gospel is always the part that stays with me too. I wonder what the archbishop said in his talk at the end — anyone remember a particular line?

It is good that Bishop John personally anointed the people with oil after the Gospel. This always reminds me of the prayer at home when we anoint ourselves with candle oil. And about the teaching - does no one remember at least one thought from it?

Matej Kováč
I agree, the moment with the anointing after the Gospel is really strong, you can feel it directly. In the Vladyka's instruction, he mainly talked about how Saints Peter and Fevronia show that marriage is based on mutual respect and trust, not on emotions. Were you there in person?

Yes, I also remember the moment when Bishop Jovan personally anoints the people with oil after the Gospel. In the lesson, he said nicely about the respect and trust of Petar and Fevronia, just as these guys say. I wasn't there, but now I decided to go to Brest next time.

Yes, I was there. The moment with the anointing after the Gospel is really very tangible, as if it reminded you with oil of what you just heard. Vladyka nicely emphasized the respect and trust in marriage - it also works better in our home than emotional waves. And were you there, or did you just read it from the press?

Yes, the anointing after the Gospel is always the most powerful fragment, then I feel as if the oil really carried these words to the heart. It's good that Lord Jan talked about mutual respect and trust in Piotr and Fewronia - in our marriage this was also the foundation, and not just emotions. It's a pity that they didn't provide at least one exact thought from this instruction.

The anointing after the Gospel is the part that always sticks with me too. Glad Archbishop John spoke about Peter and Fevronia showing that marriage runs on respect and trust rather than just feelings – that’s exactly what my wife and I have found works at home. Did he say anything about how they handled the tough times in Murom?

Yes, I also really like the moment of wonder after the Gospel, you feel that it sticks to the soul. Vladyka John spoke beautifully about respect and trust in marriage, as Peter and Fevronia had, not just fleeting emotions. In our house, after so many years, this is what holds things together, thank God.

I agree, this anointing after the Gospel really stays in memory. For me and my husband, trust and respect held everything together, not just feelings. It's a pity that they didn't write down any specific thought from the sermon - I would love to remember what exactly he said about Peter and Fewronia.

Yes, the anointing after the Gospel is truly memorable, and in our parish there is always such a moment of silence. For Piotr and Fewronia, it was this mutual trust and respect that were the foundation, not just romantic ecstasy. I wonder if there will be such an archbishop's service in Warsaw this year on the eve of their feast day?

Yes, this anointing after the Gospel really stays in your mind, in our Hajnówka there is always such a peaceful moment. What touches me most about Piotr and Fewronia is how she treated him not out of obligation, but out of true concern. What exactly do you remember about their story, Karolina?
A
Agnieszka Kaczmarek
Yes, this anointing after the Gospel really gives you a moment of concentration, and here in Hajnówka there is always such silence. I agree about Piotr and Fewronia - their marriage was based on trust and humility, not on grand gestures. In our parish this year there will be a regular evening service, without the archbishop, but I will come with my husband anyway. Are you planning something more in your parish?

Michał Kaczmarek
Yes, this anointing after the Gospel actually stays in our minds, and here in Gdańsk there is always such a moment of concentration. I agree that with Piotr and Fewronia, trust and respect were the most important, not any elation. In Warsaw I don't know, but in our parish we plan a regular evening service, without the archbishop. What will happen in your parish?

Yes, this anointing after the Gospel actually remains in memory - in Białystok there is also such a quiet, focused moment. What I remember most about the story of Piotr and Fewronia is how she was not afraid to tell the truth about her love, even when everything was against it. And you, Agnieszka, have you ever been on a pilgrimage to Murom?
J
Jakub Szymański
Yes, this anointing after the Gospel is very similar in Krakow - people stand still and the smell of the holy oil remains for a long time. What I remember most about the story of Piotr and Fewronia is how she was able to find a cure for his illness, even though everyone else gave up. And you, Agnieszka, have you ever tried to make their favorite dish with honey and herbs?

Yes, this anointing after the Gospel really stays in your mind - in Krakow, in the church in Wola, there is also a moment when everyone stands in silence and suddenly you feel that it is not just a gesture. As for Fewronia, I'm always struck by how she handled everything with her wisdom and calmness, without shouting. I haven't been to Murom, but I would love to go - Łukasz, have you been?

In my parish in Warsaw, there will also be a regular evening service, without the archbishop, but we always try to come with our husband, because this holiday is close to us. I agree that their marriage was based on humility and trust - in our home this is also the most important thing. And tell me, Agnieszka, does anyone in Hajnówka still stay for tea in the parish after such a service?
M
Mateusz Nowak
In our place in Hajnówka there will be a regular evening service, without the archbishop, but we always try to ensure that the anointing after the Gospel is calm and focused. I agree with you about Piotr and Fewronia - with them, respect and trust survived everything, not any elation. What does the service on Saints' Day look like in your place in Gdańsk? Do you have anything extra?

Katarzyna Zielińska
Yes, this anointing after the Gospel is truly memorable, in our Wola district in Warsaw you also stand in complete silence and feel the weight of oil on your forehead. Fewronia also amazes me with her calmness - she dealt with matters with wisdom, not strength. I haven't been to Murom, but I would like to go with someone who has already been there, will Łukasz contact me?

Yes, this anointing after the Gospel really stays in our memory, in Warsaw's Wola district we also stand in silence and feel this burden. Fewronia actually impresses with her calmness and wisdom, not her strength - it is more useful in life than I sometimes think. I haven't been to Murom, but I'll be happy to read what Łukasz says if he contacts me.

Yes, this anointing after the Gospel really leaves this calm, clean smell on the skin and clothes - here in Hajnówka people also stand patiently. The story with Fiewronia and this herbal medicine always moves me, because it shows that sometimes simple knowledge from the forest saves more than court medicine. As for honey and herbs, I once made a similar sauce for duck, but I don't know if it's their favorite - Jakub, do you have the exact recipe?
N
Natalia Wiśniewska
Yes, this anointing after the Gospel is truly memorable - here in Białystok you also stand in silence and feel the weight on your forehead. Fewronia also convinces me with this calmness, because in fishing I often see that patience gives more than rushing. As for Murom, maybe Łukasz will let me know, because I would like to read it myself before going to the mountains.

Yes, this anointing after the Gospel really leaves this calm, clean smell - in our place in Gdańsk the faithful are also waiting calmly. Fiewronia's story with herbs always reminds me that God sometimes works through simple things. As for the honey sauce for the duck, it sounds tasty, but my husband prefers my sourdough bread to such experiments.
K
Katarzyna Zielińska
Yes, the anointing after the Gospel in Krakow sounds similar - in Warsaw, after such an evening, you can still feel the smell on your hands for a long time. The story with Fewronia herbs is indeed powerful, because it shows that sometimes patience and knowledge from nature are enough. As for this dish with honey, I've never tried it, but I'd love to see the recipe if you have it.

Yes, this anointing after the Gospel is truly memorable, and in Krakow we also stand in complete silence. Fewronia always teaches me that patience and common sense are more important than strength - in accounting, I am often convinced of this when dealing with difficult settlements. I wonder what Łukasz will write about Murom if he contacts us.
J
Joanna Zielińska
Yes, the scent of eucalyptus and herbs lasts a really long time after being anointed, in my case in Lublin I can still feel it on my hands after such an evening at home. Fewronia herbs really make you think - I also prefer patience to chemicals in the garden. As for the honey dish, it works best with the addition of nuts, I can send you the recipe by e-mail tomorrow.
