Bishop's Divine Liturgy in the Cathedral of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Serovtranslated

On July 5, the 5th Sunday after Pentecost, Bishop Feognost of Serov and Krasnoturinsky celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Cathedral of the Transfiguration of the Lord in the city of Serov.
His Eminence was concelebrated by the clergy of the cathedral.
At the end of the Liturgy, the archpastor addressed those gathered with a sermon. In his speech, Bishop Theognostos revealed in detail the meaning of the Sunday 28th Gospel conception (Matthew 8:28–9:1). This fragment of the Gospel tells of Christ’s meeting with the demon-possessed and of His almighty power, which heals and frees a person. The Bishop drew attention to the fact that the Gospel narrative speaks not only about miraculous healing, but also about a genuine attitude towards Christ: some residents of the city, frightened, asked the Lord to leave, but Christ, remaining faithful to His cause of salvation, does not retreat before human weakness and fear.
The bishop emphasized that for a modern Christian this passage is a call to trust in God even in moments of anxiety and uncertainty. Fears and doubts can be strong, but faith based in Christ can overcome them. The Bishop urged parishioners not to distance themselves from God in difficult moments, but, on the contrary, to hold on to Him even more tightly, drawing strength and consolation from Him.…
