20 липня 2026 року в П'ятигорську відбулася зустріч Повноважного представника Президента Російської Федерації у Північно-Кавказькому федеральному окрузі Юрія Яковича Чайки із представниками релігійних об'єднань суб'єктів СКФО.

Православних християн Дагестану на зустрічі представляв архієпископ Махачкалінський та Дербентський Варлаам.

У розмові з духовенством традиційних релігійних громад Північного Кавказу обговорювалися питання збереження та зміцнення міжнаціональної та міжрелігійної згоди на основі російських духовно-моральних цінностей.

Вітаючи присутніх, Юрій Якович наголосив на важливості майбутньої розмови, яка покликана визначити вектори спільного докладання зусиль духовенства, органів влади та інститутів громадянського суспільства для виконання масштабних завдань у рамках заходів Року єдності народів Росії та Стратегії державної національної політики, що набула чинності 1 січня поточного року.
