Archbishop Stefan met with participants of the Summer Rally of Orthodox Youthtranslated

July 25, 2026 · 1 min read

His Eminence Stefan, Archbishop of Gomel and Zhlobin, met with participants in the Summer Rally of Orthodox Youth of the Gomel Diocese on July 25, 2026 at the courtyard of the St. Nicholas Monastery in the village of Teryukha, Gomel region.

The summer gathering annually brings together young people from the parishes of the diocese. The archpastor did not arrive empty-handed: a pleasant addition to the meeting were the fresh vegetables, fruits and sweet watermelons that he brought for the participants.

The central part of the visit was a conversation about the life of a Christian in the Church. Bishop Stefan spoke about the need not to forget about the temple and attend divine services. Turning to the experience of the Old Testament prophets, the archbishop spoke about his life path and his churching, which began in childhood.

At the end of the meeting, His Eminence Stefan blessed the participants of the rally.

Татьяна СмирноваIt’s good that Vladyka himself brought watermelons and vegetables; the youth probably appreciated it. I especially liked the part about childhood and church membership—I also have this from childhood. What year was the meeting, 2026? There seems to be a typo in the news.

Ірина БойкоSo, watermelons from the archbishop himself - this will definitely be remembered by young people, especially in the heat at the rally. I’m also interested in how he started going to church as a child, through his parents or through a church nearby? And Tatyana is right about 2026, probably a typo, it should be 2025 or 2024.

Juraj HorváthYes, those watermelons from the Archbishop must have been a hit, especially in the summer at the convention. I liked the mention of his childhood and how his church attendance began - in our case, it was similar to the grandmother who took us to church. And the year 2026 is really strange, probably a typo.
