Archbishop Stephen celebrated the Divine Liturgy on Dmitrievskaya Parental Saturday.translated

On Dmitrievskaya Parental Saturday, the Church prays for the repose of Orthodox Christians who have fallen asleep in Christ. The prayer for parents, relatives, teachers, and friends expresses love for them and faith in the resurrection of the dead and eternal life.
On this day, November 7, 2026, His Eminence, Archbishop Stephen of Gomel and Zhlobin, celebrated a commemorative Divine Liturgy in the Petro-Pavlovsky Diocesan Cathedral of Gomel.
His Eminence was assisted by the secretary of the Gomel diocese, Protodeacon George Alampiev, and the clergy of the cathedral.
During the Liturgy, prayers were offered for the forgiveness of sins and the repose of the departed Orthodox Christians. After the Liturgy, a commemoration was held.
Archbishop Stephen addressed the gathered with an archpastoral word, reminding them of the significance of prayer for the departed as a manifestation of Christian love and concern for them.
