Archbishop Stefan congratulated cultural workers on their professional holidaytranslated

The Day of Cultural Workers in Belarus is celebrated annually on the second Sunday of October. On the eve of the professional holiday, on October 7, 2026, a solemn event was held in the assembly hall of the Gomel Regional Library, bringing together employees of the institution, friends and partners of the library.
His Eminence Stefan, Archbishop of Gomel and Zhlobin, took part in the celebration.
Addressing those gathered, the archpastor noted the importance of culture in preserving spiritual heritage and passing it on to future generations. Speaking about library service, the Bishop emphasized that the library remains a space for a person to meet history, literature and spiritual tradition.
Archbishop Stefan also drew attention to the everyday content of culture, which is revealed in a person’s relationship to others, family, traditions and moral values. The Bishop noted the responsibility of cultural workers for preserving the accumulated heritage and passing it on to the younger generation.
