Archbishop Savva led the water procession along the Dniestertranslated

On October 11, His Eminence Archbishop Savva of Tiraspol and Dubossary, accompanied by the first assistant to the Ruling Bishop, Archimandrite John (Danilescu), the dean of the Bendery district, Archpriest Michael Lungu, and clergy of the Central Deanery, made a water procession along the Dniester River, from the city of Bendery to the village of Merenesti. Representatives of government and administrative bodies, as well as other participants in the event, took part in the prayer procession, which stretched about twelve kilometers. At the place of arrival of the river procession, the participants of the religious procession were met by the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vadim Nikolaevich Krasnoselsky and his wife. After this, the religious procession continued on foot to the Dniester Dawns health complex, where the participants were joined by vacationers.
The event, dedicated to the day of remembrance of St. Sergius of Radonezh and the celebration of the 618th anniversary of the first chronicle mention of the city, ended with a festive prayer service, which was performed by Archbishop Savva.
