Archbishop Savva celebrated the Divine Liturgy on the day of the festival in honor of the Iveron Icon of the Mother of Godtranslated

On October 26, the day of the festival in honor of the Iveron Icon of the Mother of God, His Eminence Archbishop Savva of Tiraspol and Dubossary celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. His Eminence was co-served by the clergy of the Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ, Hieromonk Simeon (Lupashko) and Protodeacon Sergius Afteni. At the end of the Divine Liturgy, glorification was performed before the copy of the Iveron Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos, after which the Ruling Bishop addressed those gathered with a sermon. The Iveron Icon of the Mother of God, residing in the Iveron Monastery on Holy Mount Athos, has long been revered by Orthodox Christians as miraculous. Her lists spread throughout the Orthodox world, and one of them was brought to Moscow in 1648 at the request of the future Patriarch Nikon. The Moscow Iveron Icon also became famous for its numerous miracles and became one of the revered shrines of the Russian Orthodox Church.
